Appraisals Workshop

(Non-CEU) Peter Stanhope has practiced real estate appraisal for 50+ years. He has provided valuation services nationally and internationally. He has served on the faculty at the universities of New Hampshire and Maine, where he has taught undergraduate and professional education courses. Today he is the principal appraiser in his Portsmouth, NH firm, The Stanhope Group, and focuses his practice on litigation and taxation.

 

This program will address a number of topics regarding types of appraisers, appraisals and appraisal reports. The discussion will cover why Fannie/Freddie, VA and FHA appraisal requirements influence appraisal conclusions.

 

Another area to be reviewed is the home inspection report and its use by the appraiser, the selection of comparable sales and the basis of measuring of the influence by the amount a comparable is adjusted for the presence or absence of a feature.
